Nanyue
Nanyue is an ancient kingdom that existed in southern China during the late 3rd century BCE to the early 1st century CE. It was located in what is now Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, and its capital was Panyu, near modern-day Guangzhou. Nanyue was known for its rich culture, trade, and interactions with neighboring regions, including Southeast Asia.
The kingdom was founded by Zhao Tuo, a military general from the Qin Dynasty. Nanyue became a significant political and economic center, blending Han Chinese and local cultures. It eventually fell under the control of the Han Dynasty in 111 BCE, marking the end of its independence.
