Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves burning a herb called mugwort near specific points on the body. This practice is often used to promote healing, improve circulation, and alleviate pain. The heat generated from the burning herb is believed to stimulate the flow of qi (energy) and enhance the body's natural healing processes.
There are two main types of moxibustion: direct and indirect. In direct moxibustion, a small cone of mugwort is placed directly on the skin and ignited, while in indirect moxibustion, the herb is burned on top of an acupuncture needle or held close to the skin without touching it.
