Miwok language
The Miwok language is a Native American language spoken by the Miwok people, who originally inhabited regions of northern California. It belongs to the Penutian language family and has several dialects, including Northern Miwok and Southern Miwok.
Historically, the Miwok language was used for daily communication, storytelling, and cultural practices. However, due to colonization and the decline of native speakers, it is now considered endangered. Efforts are being made to revitalize the language through educational programs and community initiatives.
