Miwok people
The Miwok people are a Native American group originally from Northern California. They traditionally inhabited areas around the Sierra Nevada foothills and the San Francisco Bay. The Miwok are known for their rich cultural heritage, including unique languages, crafts, and spiritual practices.
Historically, the Miwok people lived in small, semi-nomadic communities, relying on hunting, fishing, and gathering for sustenance. They crafted tools and baskets from natural materials and held ceremonies that reflected their deep connection to the land. Today, many Miwok descendants continue to preserve their cultural traditions and advocate for their rights.
