Maria of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach
Maria of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach was a German princess born on December 3, 1803. She was the daughter of Charles Augustus, Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach and Louise of Hesse-Darmstadt. Maria became known for her cultural contributions and her role in the court life of her time.
In 1824, Maria married William II of the Netherlands, becoming Queen Consort of the Netherlands. Throughout her life, she was involved in various charitable activities and supported the arts. Maria passed away on November 30, 1858, leaving a legacy of cultural influence in both Germany and the Netherlands.
