Maria Teresa of Bourbon
Maria Teresa of Bourbon was a Spanish princess born on July 12, 1756. She was the daughter of King Charles III of Spain and Maria Amalia of Saxony. Maria Teresa became the Queen of France by marrying Louis XVI in 1770, which was part of a political alliance between Spain and France.
As queen, Maria Teresa faced significant challenges, including the growing discontent among the French populace. Her reign coincided with the onset of the French Revolution, which ultimately led to her and her husband's downfall. She was executed by guillotine on October 16, 1793, marking a tragic end to her life.
