Louis XVI of France
Louis XVI was the King of France from 1774 until his deposition in 1792. He was born on August 23, 1754, and became king at a young age. His reign was marked by financial difficulties, which led to widespread discontent among the French people. Louis attempted to implement reforms but faced resistance from the nobility and the clergy.
In 1789, the French Revolution began, leading to the end of the monarchy. Louis XVI was arrested and tried for treason. He was found guilty and executed by guillotine on January 21, 1793, marking a significant turning point in French history.
