Kingdom Of Sardinia
The Kingdom of Sardinia was a historical state in Italy that existed from 1720 to 1861. It included the island of Sardinia and parts of the Italian mainland, particularly the region of Piedmont. The kingdom played a significant role in the unification of Italy, serving as a base for the movement led by figures like Giuseppe Garibaldi and Count Camillo di Cavour.
In 1861, the Kingdom of Sardinia became the first kingdom of a unified Italy, marking the end of its independent status. The capital was Turin, which was also the first capital of unified Italy until it moved to Florence and later to Rome.
