King Miguel I of Portugal
King Miguel I of Portugal was born on October 26, 1802, and became the King of Portugal in 1828. His reign was marked by political turmoil and conflict, as he sought to establish an absolute monarchy, opposing the constitutional monarchy established by his brother, King Pedro IV.
Miguel's rule led to a civil war known as the Liberal Wars, which lasted until 1834. After his defeat, he went into exile and lived in various countries, including France and England. He died on November 14, 1866, in Germany, leaving a complex legacy in Portuguese history.
