King Gyanendra
King Gyanendra was the last king of Nepal, reigning from 1950 to 1951 and again from 2001 to 2008. He was born on July 26, 1971, and became king after the tragic assassination of his brother, King Dipendra. Gyanendra's rule faced significant challenges, including political unrest and demands for democracy.
In 2006, widespread protests led to the abolition of the monarchy in Nepal, and Gyanendra was officially dethroned in 2008. Following his removal, Nepal was declared a federal democratic republic, marking the end of centuries of royal rule in the country.
