King Faisal II
King Faisal II was the last king of Iraq, reigning from 1939 until his overthrow in 1958. He was born on May 2, 1935, and became king at just four years old after the assassination of his father, King Ghazi. His reign was marked by political instability and growing tensions between different factions within the country.
Faisal II was educated in Iraq and later in England, where he developed a modern outlook. His rule ended when a military coup led by Abdul Karim Qasim resulted in his assassination, along with many members of the royal family, marking the end of the monarchy in Iraq.
