King Faisal I
King Faisal I was the first king of modern Iraq, ruling from 1921 until his assassination in 1933. He played a crucial role in the establishment of the Iraqi state after the end of Ottoman Empire rule following World War I. Faisal was known for his efforts to unify the diverse ethnic and religious groups within Iraq.
Faisal I was also a prominent figure in the Arab nationalist movement. He participated in the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans during the war and later became the king of Syria for a brief period in 1920 before being ousted. His leadership helped shape Iraq's early political landscape.
