Karađorđević Family
The Karađorđević Family is a Serbian royal family that played a significant role in the history of Serbia. Founded by Karageorge, the family rose to prominence during the early 19th century, particularly during the First Serbian Uprising against Ottoman rule. The family has produced several notable monarchs, including Peter I and Alexander I.
After the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes in 1918, the Karađorđevićs continued to influence Serbian politics. The monarchy was abolished in 1945, but the family remains active in cultural and charitable endeavors, with members like Crown Prince Alexander representing the family today.
