First Serbian Uprising
The First Serbian Uprising began in 1804 as a revolt against the Ottoman Empire's rule over Serbia. It was led by local leaders, including Karageorge Petrović, who sought to establish Serbian autonomy and improve the conditions for the Serbian people. The uprising was fueled by a desire for freedom and national identity, as well as resentment towards oppressive Ottoman policies.
The conflict lasted until 1813, resulting in initial successes for the Serbian forces. However, the uprising was eventually suppressed by the Ottomans. Despite this setback, the First Serbian Uprising laid the groundwork for future movements, ultimately leading to the establishment of the modern Serbian state.
