Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes
The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes was established in 1918 after World War I, uniting the South Slavic peoples of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. It aimed to create a single state for the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, promoting national unity and cooperation among these diverse ethnic groups.
In 1929, the kingdom was renamed the Kingdom of Yugoslavia to reflect its broader identity. The government faced challenges, including ethnic tensions and political instability, which ultimately contributed to its dissolution during World War II. The kingdom played a significant role in shaping the future of the Balkans and the formation of modern Yugoslavia.
