Iraqi Interim Government
The Iraqi Interim Government was established in June 2004 following the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. Its primary purpose was to provide a transitional administration that would lead the country towards democratic elections. This government was formed to help stabilize Iraq and facilitate the rebuilding of its political institutions after years of conflict.
The interim government was composed of various political groups and aimed to represent the diverse population of Iraq, including different ethnic and religious communities. It operated until the formation of a permanent government after the January 2005 elections, marking a significant step in Iraq's political transition.
