Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy
Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy was a prominent Bengali politician and a key figure in the Indian independence movement. Born on September 8, 1892, in Calcutta, he was a member of the Indian National Congress and later became the leader of the All-India Muslim League. Suhrawardy played a significant role in advocating for the rights of Muslims in British India.
As the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1948 to 1951, Suhrawardy focused on economic development and communal harmony. He is best known for his efforts to promote the idea of a separate nation for Muslims, which eventually contributed to the creation of Pakistan in 1947. Suhrawardy passed away on December 5, 1963.
