Grand Duke Paul of Russia
Grand Duke Paul of Russia was born on September 20, 1754, and was the son of Emperor Peter III and Empress Catherine the Great. He was known for his eccentric behavior and strong personality, which often put him at odds with his mother. Paul became the Grand Duke of Russia in 1776 and later ascended to the throne as Emperor Paul I in 1796.
His reign was marked by a series of reforms and a focus on military organization. However, his autocratic style and controversial policies led to widespread discontent. Paul was assassinated in 1801, ending his tumultuous rule and paving the way for his son, Emperor Alexander I, to take the throne.
