Emperor Peter III
Emperor Peter III was the Emperor of Russia for a brief period in 1762. He was born on February 21, 1728, and was the grandson of Peter the Great. His reign lasted only six months before he was overthrown in a coup led by his wife, Catherine the Great, who subsequently took the throne.
Peter III was known for his admiration of Prussia and its military, which influenced his policies. His unpopular decisions, including the withdrawal from the Seven Years' War, alienated many nobles and military leaders, contributing to his downfall and the rise of Catherine the Great.
