Gōjū-Ryū
Gōjū-Ryū is a traditional style of karate that originated in Okinawa, Japan. It combines hard (go) and soft (jū) techniques, emphasizing both powerful strikes and fluid movements. This martial art focuses on self-defense, physical fitness, and mental discipline.
The style was developed in the early 20th century by Chojun Miyagi, who integrated elements from various martial arts, including Chinese martial arts. Gōjū-Ryū practitioners learn various techniques, including punches, kicks, and grappling, as well as kata, which are pre-arranged forms that help develop skills and techniques.
