French Equatorial Africa
French Equatorial Africa was a federation of French colonial territories in Central Africa, established in 1910. It included present-day Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, and Chad. The region was rich in natural resources, such as timber and minerals, and played a significant role in the French colonial economy.
The federation was governed from Brazzaville, the capital, and was officially dissolved in 1960 when the territories gained independence. French Equatorial Africa was marked by a diverse mix of cultures and ethnic groups, with a complex history of colonial administration and local resistance.
