Francis II of the Two Sicilies
Francis II of the Two Sicilies was the last king of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, reigning from 1859 until 1861. He was born on January 16, 1836, and became king at a young age after the abdication of his father, Ferdinand II of the Two Sicilies. His reign was marked by political turmoil and the rise of the Italian unification movement.
In 1860, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was invaded by forces led by Giuseppe Garibaldi, which ultimately led to its annexation into the newly formed Kingdom of Italy. After the fall of his kingdom, Francis II went into exile, living in various countries until his death on December 27, 1894.
