Emperor Thành Thái
Emperor Thành Thái was the 10th emperor of the Nguyễn Dynasty in Vietnam, reigning from 1889 to 1907. He was born on March 14, 1879, and became emperor at a young age after the abdication of his father, Emperor Đồng Khánh. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize Vietnam and resist French colonial influence.
However, Emperor Thành Thái faced significant challenges, including political pressure from the French colonial government. In 1907, he was deposed and exiled to Réunion Island due to his opposition to French rule. He spent the rest of his life in exile, passing away on March 29, 1927.
