Emperor Đồng Khánh
Emperor Đồng Khánh was the 8th emperor of the Nguyễn Dynasty in Vietnam, reigning from 1884 to 1889. Born on March 17, 1864, he ascended to the throne at a young age after the death of his predecessor, Emperor Hàm Nghi. His reign was marked by increasing French colonial influence in Vietnam.
During his rule, Đồng Khánh struggled to maintain Vietnamese sovereignty amid French control. He was often seen as a puppet of the French authorities, which led to limited power and influence. He died on January 28, 1889, and was succeeded by Emperor Thành Thái.
