Elizabeth of Rhuddlan
Elizabeth of Rhuddlan was a medieval princess born in 1282, the daughter of King Edward I of England and Eleanor of Castile. She was named after the town of Rhuddlan in Wales, where her father established a castle. Elizabeth's birth was significant as it marked the first English princess born in Wales after the conquest.
In 1294, Elizabeth married Henry de Boun, the 1st Earl of Hereford, strengthening ties between the English crown and the Welsh nobility. The couple had several children, and Elizabeth's lineage continued to play a role in the political landscape of England and Wales. She passed away in 1316.
