Elamite script
The Elamite script is an ancient writing system used in the region of Elam, located in present-day southwestern Iran. It was primarily employed from around 3000 BCE to 400 BCE and is known for its unique characters, which were used to write the Elamite language. The script evolved over time, with two main forms: the linear script and the cuneiform script.
Elamite cuneiform was influenced by the Akkadian script and was used for administrative and religious texts. Scholars have deciphered some of the inscriptions, providing insights into the culture and history of the Elamite civilization, which played a significant role in the ancient Near East.
