Dengue is a viral infection transmitted primarily by Aedes mosquitoes, particularly Aedes aegypti. It is common in tropical and subtropical regions, causing symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, joint and muscle pain, and rash. In some cases, it can lead to more severe forms, like Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, which can be life-threatening. Preventing Dengue involves reducing mosquito populations and avoiding bites. This can be achieved by using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves, and eliminating standing water where mosquitoes breed. Vaccines are also available in some areas to help protect against the virus.
