Coastal Chukchi
The Coastal Chukchi are an Indigenous people primarily residing in the northeastern part of Siberia, specifically in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. They traditionally rely on marine resources, such as whales, seals, and fish, for their subsistence. Their culture is closely tied to the Arctic environment, and they have developed unique skills for hunting and fishing in harsh conditions.
Their language, also called Chukchi, belongs to the Chukchi-Koryak language family.
