Chukchi-Koryak language family
The Chukchi-Koryak language family is a group of languages spoken primarily in the northeastern part of Russia. It includes two main branches: the Chukchi language, spoken by the Chukchi people, and the Koryak language, used by the Koryak people. These languages are part of the larger Paleo-Siberian language group.
Both languages share similarities in grammar and vocabulary, reflecting their cultural and historical connections. The Chukchi-Koryak family is considered endangered, with a declining number of speakers, as younger generations increasingly adopt Russian as their primary language. Efforts are being made to preserve these unique languages and their cultural heritage.
