Celtiberian Wars
The Celtiberian Wars were a series of conflicts between the Roman Republic and the Celtiberians, a group of tribes in the central region of the Iberian Peninsula, during the 2nd century BCE. These wars were primarily fought over control of territory and resources, as the Romans sought to expand their influence in Hispania.
The most notable conflicts occurred between 181 and 133 BCE, culminating in the Numantine War. The wars showcased the fierce resistance of the Celtiberians, who were skilled warriors, and ultimately led to the Roman conquest of the region, significantly shaping the history of Spain.
