Celtiberians
The Celtiberians were an ancient group of tribes that inhabited the central region of the Iberian Peninsula, primarily in what is now modern-day Spain. They emerged around the 3rd century BCE, blending elements of Celtic and Iberian cultures. The Celtiberians were known for their warrior society and agricultural practices, as well as their distinctive pottery and metalwork.
Celtiberians played a significant role in the conflicts between the Roman Republic and the various tribes of the Iberian Peninsula. Their resistance against Roman expansion culminated in the Celtiberian Wars, which lasted from 181 to 133 BCE. Ultimately, they were incorporated into the Roman Empire, leading to significant cultural changes.
