Ardhamagadhi
Ardhamagadhi is an ancient Middle Indo-Aryan language that was primarily spoken in the region of Magadha, which is present-day Bihar, India. It is closely associated with the early teachings of Jainism and is considered one of the languages used in the scriptures of the Jain tradition.
The language is significant for its role in preserving the teachings of Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism. Ardhamagadhi is characterized by its simplified grammar and vocabulary compared to other ancient languages, making it more accessible to the common people of its time.
