Adelaide of France
Adelaide of France was a French princess born in 931, the daughter of King Robert I of France and Beatrice of France. She became the queen consort of Hugh Capet, the first king of the Capetian dynasty, after their marriage in 956. Adelaide played a significant role in the political landscape of her time, supporting her husband's efforts to consolidate power.
After Hugh's death in 996, Adelaide became a prominent figure in the royal court and was involved in the upbringing of her son, Robert II of France. She was known for her piety and influence, contributing to the stability of the Capetian dynasty during her lifetime.
