Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Tusi
Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Tusi, commonly known as Al-Tusi, was a prominent Persian scholar born in 1201. He made significant contributions to various fields, including astronomy, mathematics, and philosophy. Al-Tusi is best known for his work in developing the Tusi couple, a mathematical model that improved the understanding of planetary motion.
In addition to his scientific achievements, Al-Tusi played a vital role in the establishment of the Maragha Observatory in Iran, which became a center for astronomical research. His writings influenced later scholars and laid the groundwork for advancements in both Islamic and European science.
