Al-Khwarizmi was a Persian mathematician and scholar who lived during the 9th century. He is often called the "father of algebra" because he wrote a groundbreaking book titled Al-Kitab al-Mukhtasar fi Hisab al-Jabr wal-Muqabala, which introduced systematic methods for solving equations.
