龙舟节, or the Dragon Boat Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. This festival commemorates the ancient poet and statesman 屈原 (Qu Yuan), who drowned himself in the Miluo River to protest against corruption.
