龙舟
龙舟, or "dragon boat," is a traditional wooden boat that is long and narrow, often decorated with a dragon's head and tail. These boats are used in competitive racing, especially during the 端午节 (Duanwu Festival), which celebrates the life and death of the poet 屈原 (Qu Yuan).
The sport of dragon boat racing involves teams paddling in unison to reach the finish line quickly. Each boat typically holds a crew of 20 paddlers, a drummer to keep the rhythm, and a steerer. This ancient practice promotes teamwork and cultural heritage, making it popular in many countries around the world.
