The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. It honors the ancient poet and statesman Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in the river to protest against corruption. To commemorate him, people race colorful dragon boats and prepare special sticky rice dumplings called zongzi, wrapped in bamboo leaves.
During the festival, communities come together to enjoy the exciting boat races and share delicious food. The event is not only a celebration of Qu Yuan's legacy but also a time for families to bond and enjoy the summer festivities.
