the Oslo Accords
The Oslo Accords are a series of agreements made in the 1990s between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). These agreements aimed to establish a framework for peace and the eventual creation of a Palestinian state. The first accord was signed in 1993, marking the first time both parties officially recognized each other.
The accords included provisions for Palestinian self-governance in parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as the establishment of the Palestinian Authority. While the Oslo Accords were a significant step towards peace, many issues remain unresolved, leading to ongoing conflict in the region.
