Zaydi Shia
Zaydi Shia is a branch of Shia Islam that primarily follows the teachings of Zayd ibn Ali, the grandson of Husayn ibn Ali. This sect is mainly found in Yemen, where it has a significant historical and cultural presence. Zaydi Shia differs from other Shia groups in its interpretation of leadership and the criteria for the Imamate, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and piety in a leader.
Unlike the more widely known Twelver Shia, Zaydi Shia does not believe in a line of infallible Imams. Instead, they recognize a series of leaders who can rise to authority based on their qualifications. This has led to a more flexible approach to leadership and governance within the Zaydi community.
