Yoo Gwan-soon
Yoo Gwan-soon was a prominent figure in the Korean independence movement against Japanese colonial rule in the early 20th century. Born on December 16, 1902, in Cheonan, she became a symbol of resistance after leading protests during the March 1st Movement in 1919. Her activism inspired many Koreans to fight for their country's freedom.
Despite her young age, Yoo was arrested and imprisoned for her efforts. She endured harsh treatment while incarcerated but continued to advocate for independence. Yoo Gwan-soon passed away on July 28, 1920, but remains a celebrated national hero in South Korea for her courage and dedication.
