Yemen Civil War
The Yemen Civil War began in 2014 when the Houthi movement, a group from the north, took control of the capital, Sana'a. This led to the ousting of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who fled to Saudi Arabia. The conflict escalated as various factions, including the Houthis and forces loyal to Hadi, fought for power, leading to a humanitarian crisis.
In 2015, a coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened, aiming to restore Hadi's government. The war has resulted in widespread destruction, famine, and disease, affecting millions of civilians. International efforts to negotiate peace have so far been unsuccessful, prolonging the suffering in Yemen.
