Yaser Arafat
Yaser Arafat was a prominent Palestinian political leader and a key figure in the struggle for Palestinian rights. Born on August 24, 1929, in Cairo, Egypt, he co-founded the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1964 and served as its chairman for many years. Arafat became known for his efforts to gain international recognition for the Palestinian cause.
In 1993, Arafat signed the Oslo Accords with Israel, which aimed to establish peace and a framework for Palestinian self-governance. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his role in these negotiations. Arafat passed away on November 11, 2004, in Paris, France.
