Palestine Liberation Organization
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is a political and paramilitary organization founded in 1964 to represent the Palestinian people. Its main goal is to establish an independent Palestinian state and promote the rights of Palestinians. The PLO has been recognized as the representative of the Palestinian people by many countries and international organizations, including the United Nations.
The PLO is composed of various factions, with the most prominent being Fatah, led by Yasser Arafat for many years. Over time, the PLO has engaged in negotiations with Israel and has shifted its approach from armed struggle to diplomatic efforts, seeking a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
