Wu Dynasty
The Wu Dynasty, also known as the Eastern Wu, was one of the three major states during the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China. It was established in 222 AD and lasted until 280 AD. The dynasty was founded by Sun Quan, who ruled from the capital city of Jiangdong. Wu was known for its strong naval power and strategic location along the Yangtze River.
The Wu Dynasty played a significant role in the power struggles of the time, often clashing with the other two kingdoms, Wei and Shu. It was marked by notable figures such as Zhou Yu and Sun Jian, who contributed to its military successes. The dynasty ultimately fell to the Jin Dynasty in 280 AD, ending the era of the Three Kingdoms.
