Wort (Herb)
Wort, often referred to as an herb, is a term used to describe various plants, particularly those with medicinal or culinary uses. The word "wort" comes from the Old English term for "plant" or "herb." Many types of wort are recognized for their health benefits, such as St. John's Wort, which is commonly used to treat mild depression.
In addition to its medicinal properties, wort can also refer to edible plants used in cooking. For example, chickweed and mugwort are both considered culinary herbs. These plants are often incorporated into dishes for their flavor and nutritional value.
