William Longespée
William Longespée was an English nobleman born around 1170, known for his role as a soldier and statesman. He was the son of King Henry II of England and Ida de Tosny, making him a half-brother to King Richard I and King John. William held the title of the 3rd Earl of Salisbury and was involved in various military campaigns during the late 12th century.
He played a significant part in the Crusades and served under King Richard I. William Longespée was also a prominent figure in the political landscape of his time, often navigating the complexities of loyalty and power among the English nobility. He died in 1226.
