King Richard I, also known as Richard the Lionheart, was a famous English king who ruled from 1189 to 1199. He was born in 1157 and was known for his bravery and military skills, especially during the Third Crusade. Richard spent much of his reign fighting in battles to reclaim the Holy Land from Muslim control.
Despite his absence from England, Richard was a popular figure. He was admired for his chivalry and leadership. His adventures and exploits made him a legendary hero, and he remains a significant figure in English history. Richard's reign ended when he died from a wound sustained in battle.
