WASP-18b
WASP-18b is an exoplanet located approximately 325 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Phoenix. It is classified as a hot Jupiter, meaning it is a gas giant similar in size to Jupiter but orbits very close to its host star, resulting in extremely high temperatures.
Discovered in 2009, WASP-18b completes its orbit around the star WASP-18 in just about 22 hours. This rapid orbit leads to intense atmospheric conditions, making it one of the hottest known exoplanets. Its unique characteristics provide valuable insights into planetary formation and the dynamics of exoplanetary systems.
