Vermiculture
Vermiculture is the practice of breeding and raising earthworms, primarily for composting organic waste. This process utilizes the natural ability of worms to break down materials, turning kitchen scraps and yard waste into nutrient-rich compost known as vermicompost. This compost can enhance soil health and improve plant growth.
In addition to composting, vermiculture can also be used for fishing bait and as a protein source in animal feed. The worms are typically kept in controlled environments, such as bins or beds, where conditions like moisture and temperature are carefully managed to promote optimal growth and reproduction.
